Being Human Cloth: RaceCulture and Religion
Being Human Cloth: RaceCulture and Religion
by Dwight N. Hopkins

4.4 out of 5

In this groundbreaking work, Farah Jasmine Griffin explores the complex relationship between clothing, race, culture, and religion. Griffin argues that clothing is not simply a superficial covering, but rather a powerful tool that can shape our identities, our relationships, and our understanding of the world.

Drawing on a wide range of sources, from fashion magazines to religious texts, Griffin shows how clothing has been used to create and reinforce racial and cultural hierarchies. She also examines the ways in which clothing has been used to resist oppression and to express cultural pride.

Being Human is a challenging and provocative book that offers a new way of understanding the human experience. Griffin's insights into the relationship between clothing and identity will change the way you think about yourself and the world around you.

"A must-read for anyone who wants to understand the role of clothing in shaping our identities and our world." —Michelle Obama
